Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti is born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13th October 1980. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actor. Her talent was first noticed as a teen. She signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. She was featured on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that the same year. The song "What's the Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule's "It's Always" on Time were both huge hits. In the case of Foolish and the track What's Luv being at number one She became the first woman to record two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 of the United States. She became the first female artist holding the Top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 in America, with Foolish at number one, and then What's Love? Tina Douglas was her mother and Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas earlier had a voice. Kenashia Schia Douglas, her younger sister is older. Douglas chose the name Ashanti Shia Douglas to honor the Ashanti Empire in Ghana where women ruled the roost and were highly influential. Douglas wanted Ashantis to adopt this model. Her song Rock wit U was sampled by British singer Aitch to accompany his track Baby on the 10th of March 2022.
